Advantages of Block Board
Easily the lightest in weight when compared to other engineered wood. The main advantage here is that it can easily be transported, and the cost of transportation goes down. They are commonly used in interiors due to their lightweight properties.
It’s easy to work with and easy to handle. Since the interior of the blockboard is made of solid wood strip, its processing requirements are not high, making it convenient for on-site construction.

Block boards come with excellent screw strength and high strength when compared to particleboard and MDF.

Production Process Of Blockboard
Core preparation
• Softwood strips are cut and dried to reduce moisture content.
• Strips are arranged edge-to-edge to form the core.
Layering
• The core is sandwiched between two veneers or plywood sheets.
Pressing
• The assembly is compressed using hydraulic presses for a uniform, strong bond.
Gluing
• Strong adhesives are applied to bond the layers under heat and pressure.
Finishing
• Boards are trimmed, sanded, and inspected for quality before packaging.
